The Anchorage Community Development Authority Announces $18 million dollar sale of the 716 W. 4th Avenue building to the Municipality of Anchorage
On Tuesday, April 21, 2023, the Anchorage Assembly approved the sale of the building at 716 W 4th Avenue for $18,000,000 to the Municipality of Anchorage.
The building, which formerly housed state legislators and the Anchorage Legislative Information Office, has served as the headquarters to the Anchorage Police Department since ACDA acquired it in 2018.
“This is a great example of what can be done when government works together. ACDA, the Bronson Administration, and the members of the Anchorage Assembly saw an opportunity to save the taxpayers millions of dollars and at the same time provide funding for ACDA to move forward on much needed housing development projects,” said Mike Robbins, Executive Director of the Anchorage Community Development Authority. “This is a win-win for the Municipality and the taxpayers.”
The Anchorage Community Development Authority's (ACDA) mission is to serve as the catalyst for economic development by delivering quality private/public projects and innovative parking mobility services within the Municipality of Anchorage. Since 2004 when ACDA was established by code as a Development Authority, ACDA has been involved in many projects. Most recently of note is the Block 96 Flats a 40-unit, market rate Apartment building being constructed by Debenham Properties LLC.
